Contraindications
Acetylsalicylic acid should be used with caution: in the first and second trimester of pregnancy. In case of hypersensitivity to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic drugs or other allergenic substances; during simultaneous use of anticoagulants; the product should not be used in patients taking oral antidiabetic drugs from the sulfonylurea group, due to the risk of increased hypoglycemic effect, and in patients taking anti-gout drugs. In patients with a history of peptic ulcer disease or gastrointestinal bleeding. In patients with impaired renal function and chronic renal failure. In patients with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and/or systemic lupus erythematosus and liver failure, as salicylate toxicity increases, liver function should be monitored in these patients. Taking the product at the lowest effective dose for the shortest period necessary to relieve symptoms reduces the risk of side effects. Acetylsalicylic acid should be discontinued 5 to 7 days before planned surgery due to the risk of prolonged bleeding time both during and after surgery. Caution should be exercised when using methotrexate in doses less than 15 mg per week due to the increased toxic effects of methotrexate on the bone marrow. Concomitant use with methotrexate at doses greater than 15 mg per week is contraindicated. Use with caution in the case of: uterine hemorrhage, excessive menstrual bleeding, use of an intrauterine contraceptive device, hypertension and heart failure. During treatment with acetylsalicylic acid, alcohol should not be consumed due to the increased risk of damage to the gastrointestinal mucosa. In elderly patients, the product should be used in lower doses and at longer intervals due to the increased risk of side effects in this group of patients. There is evidence that drugs that inhibit cyclooxygenase (an enzyme involved in the synthesis of prostaglandins) may cause fertility disorders in women by affecting ovulation. This effect is transient and disappears after the end of therapy.
