DESCRIPTION:

The active substance of Otinum is a derivative of salicylic acid - choline salicylate. Choline salicylate used topically has analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. Thanks to this, it reduces pain and inflammation caused by inflammation of the external auditory canal. The glycerol contained in the drug softens the ear wax, which makes it easier to remove. After local administration to the ear, Otinum drops have no systemic effect.

INDICATIONS:

For emergency use in inflammation of the external auditory canal manifested by pain, itching and redness. They can also be used to soften hardened earwax before rinsing the external ear canal. The drug is intended for adults.

DOSAGE:

For short-term treatment of local symptoms of acute inflammation of the external auditory canal: usually 3 to 4 drops into the external auditory canal every 6 to 8 hours. Without your doctor's recommendation, do not use Otinum for longer than 3 days.

To soften hardened earwax before removing it from the ear: Usually 3 to 4 drops into the external ear canal every 12 hours for four days. The drug is used only topically, in the ear.

The drug is intended for use in adults.

COMPOSITION:

Active substance the drug is choline salicylate. The other ingredients are: glycerol, ethanol 96%, chlorobutanol hemihydrate, purified water.

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS:

Like any medicine, this medicine may cause side effects side effects, although not everybody gets them.

The frequency of the side effects listed below is unknown (cannot be estimated from the available data).

Local hypersensitivity reactions (redness and itching of the skin ).

In people with perforation of the eardrum, hearing damage may occur while using the drug.

Do not use the drug:

• if the patient is allergic (hypersensitivity) to the active substance (choline salicylate), other salicylates (e.g. acetylsalicylic acid/aspirin) or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine;
• if you have bleeding or discharge from the ear;
• if you experience severe ear pain with impaired hearing;
• if you have previously been diagnosed with damage to the eardrum (rupture or disruption);
• in people under 18 years of age.

Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
