DESCRIPTION:

Artelac comes in the form of eye drops. The active substance of the drug is hypromellose.

INDICATIONS:

Artelac is used for the symptomatic treatment of dry eye syndrome. Dry eye syndrome may occur when the secretion of tear fluid is impaired. or when you cannot close your eyelids completely or partially. This medicine can also be used to moisturize hard contact lenses.

DOSAGE:

Treatment of dry eye syndrome requires individual dosing.

Depending on the severity and severity of symptoms, one drop is usually instilled into the conjunctival sac 3 to 5 times a day, or more often, depending on needs.

Consult an ophthalmologist in case of long-term or continuous treatment with Artelac.

The medicine can also be used to moisten hard contact lenses.

STORAGE HOW TO:

The medicine should be kept out of the sight and reach of children. The medicine should be stored at a temperature below 25°C. Shelf life after first opening bottles – 6 weeks. Discard any unused contents of the package 6 weeks after first opening the bottle. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the outer or immediate packaging after 'EXP'. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

COMPOSITION:

The active substance is hypromellose. 1 ml of solution contains 3.2 mg of hypromellose.

The other ingredients are: cetrimide, disodium edetate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, sodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, sorbitol, water for injections.

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS:

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.

The following side effects may occur:

• Eye irritation
• Eye pain
• Itchy eye
• Burning eye
• Redness of the eye
• Feeling of a foreign body
• Excessive tearing
• Sticking of the eyelids
• Visual disturbances
• Hypersensitivity
• Itching
• Rash

In very rare cases in some patients with severe damage to the outer, transparent layer of the eyeball (cornea), dull spots appeared on the cornea during treatment due to calcium deposition.
