Product description:

Artificial tears preparation. It contains a high molecular weight hydrophilic polymer with a pH and osmolality similar to tear fluid. The gel binds water and creates a protective film on the eye surface with lubricating properties. The drug remains in the eye for 90 minutes.

Composition:

1 g of gel contains 2 mg of carbomer.

Dosage:

Dosage should be determined individually. 1 drop into the conjunctival sac 3-5 times a day or more often and 30 minutes before bedtime. If the preparation is used with other eye drops, there should be a 5-minute interval between the use of drugs; If the preparation is used with other eye ointments, a 15-minute interval should be maintained between the use of the drugs. The preparation should always be used last. No studies have been conducted on the use of the preparation in children and adolescents.

Indications:

Symptomatic treatment of keratoconjunctivitis sicca.

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients of the preparation.

Warnings and precautions:

Before using the preparation, remove soft contact lenses; they can be put back on after at least 15 minutes. since the drug was administered. The preparation contains cetrimide (a preservative), which, when used frequently or for a long period of time, may cause eye irritation (burning, hyperemia, feeling of the presence of a foreign body) and may damage the corneal epithelium. It is recommended that patients who show hypersensitivity to a preservative should stop using the drug and use another one that does not contain preservatives.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding:

No studies on the effect of the preparation have been conducted. on fertility, use in pregnant or breastfeeding women. As a precautionary measure, it is recommended to avoid use of the drug during pregnancy. It is not known whether carbomer and/or its metabolites are excreted in human milk. The decision to discontinue breast-feeding or to discontinue or discontinue use of the product should be made taking into account the benefits of breast-feeding for the child and the benefits of treatment for the mother.

Driving and using machines:

The preparation may impair visual acuity for a short period of time, causing blurred vision, even if used as directed. The patient should not drive, perform potentially hazardous work or operate machinery until vision is clear.

Adverse effects:

Very rare: burning eyes, eye redness, eczema on the eyelid, feeling of presence of a foreign body in the eye, giantpapillary conjunctivitis, eye itching, feeling of stickiness in the eye, superficial punctate keratitis, lacrimation, blurred vision. The above reactions, including allergic reactions, may be caused by a preservative contained in the preparation (cetrimide) or may be related to intolerance to one of the other ingredients. Cetrimide may also cause damage to the corneal epithelium. Blurred vision after administration of the gel may be related to the high viscosity of the preparation.
