Starazolin 0.5 mg/ml eye drops 2 x 5 ml
Composition
1 ml of drops contains 0.5 mg of tetryzoline hydrochloride.
Dosage
The drug is applied topically to the conjunctival sac. Adults and children over 2 years old. Usually 1 to 2 drops of the drug are instilled, 2 to 3 times a day. Long-term use of the drug should be avoided, especially in children. The use of the drug in children under 2 years of age is contraindicated. Drops valid for 28 days after first opening.
Action
The drug contains the active substance tetryzoline, which is a sympathomimetic amine, an imidazoline derivative. After local application of the drug to the conjunctival sac, small blood vessels become constricted, which reduces conjunctival hyperemia and swelling.
Indications
In the symptomatic treatment of conditions accompanied by swelling and hyperemia of the conjunctiva, caused by irritating factors such as dust, smoke, contact lenses, wind, bright sunlight, chlorinated water, cosmetics, as well as in allergic inflammations such as runny nose hay fever and allergy to grass pollen. Starazolin relieves the accompanying symptoms: burning, itching, soreness, excessive tearing and irritation. The drug is not effective in the treatment of delayed allergic reactions, such as contact inflammation of the conjunctiva and skin of the eyelids.
