Principle of operation and measurement:

The operating principle of the pulse oximeter uses a mathematical formula called "Lambert-Beer's Law" according to the characteristics of the absorbance spectrum of reduced hemoglobin (RHb) and oxyhemoglobin (HbO2) in visible and near infrared light. The technology of photoelectric inspection of oxyhemoglobin was used together with the technology of capacitive pulse scanning in such a way that two streams of light of different lengths reach the finger using a sensor clamped on it. The signal measurement is obtained using a photosensitive element and, after processing in electronic circuits and a microprocessor, is displayed on the pulse oximeter display.
