Principle of operation and measurement:

The operating principle of the pulse oximeter uses a mathematical formula called "Lambert-Beer's Law" according to the characteristics of the absorbance spectrum of reduced hemoglobin (RHb) and oxyhemoglobin (HbO2) in visible and near infrared light.
