Polprazol Max 14 capsules

is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux (e.g. heartburn and acid regurgitation) in adult patients.

Composition

Each hard gastro-resistant capsule contains 20 mg of omeprazole. Excipients with known effect: sucrose, sodium, erythrosine (E127). Each capsule contains 80.02 mg of sucrose and less than 1 mmol sodium (23 mg) per dose, i.e. essentially free of sodium and erythrosine (E127).

Dosage

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

• Medicine for oral use.
• You may need to take the capsules for 2-3 consecutive days to get relief from your symptoms.

The recommended dosage is 1 capsule once a day for 14 days.

Contraindications

When not to use Polprazol Max:

• if you are allergic to omeprazole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine,
• if you are allergic to medicines containing other proton pump inhibitors.

Actions side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Common side effects (1 in 10 people):

• headache,
• diarrhea,
• nausea or vomiting,
• benign stomach polyps.

Not very common side effects (1 in 100 patients):

• swelling of the feet and ankles,
• sleep disturbance,
• feeling dizzy, tingling and stinging,
• spinning sensation,
• changes in liver function tests,
• skin rash,
• general malaise and lack of energy.

Rare side effects (1 in 1,000 patients):

• allergic reactions,
• changes in taste,
• dry mouth,
• feeling agitated, confused or depressed,
• joint or muscle pain,
• increased sweating.

Warnings and precautions

• Polprazol Max contains sucrose, sodium and erythrosine.
• Before taking the medicine, inform your doctor about the planned specific blood test.

• Do not take Polprazol Max for a period longer than 14 days without consulting your doctor.
• If disturbing symptoms occur (unjustified weight loss, difficulty swallowing, vomiting with blood, passing black stools, jaundice or severe liver disease) contact your doctor immediately.

Storage:

• Keep the medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
• Store at temperatures below 30oC.
