Product description:

Goprazol Max is a medicinal product for use to treat the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux, which is often accompanied by heartburn. Goprazol Max in the form of enteric-resistant capsules contains an active substance called omeprazole, which belongs to the proton pump inhibitors (IPP). The drug reduces the secretion of hydrochloric acid in the stomach.

Composition:

The active substance of the drug is omeprazole.

1 gastro-resistant capsule contains 20 mg of omeprazole.

Excipients:

capsule content: sucrose, grains (including corn starch and sucrose), sodium lauryl sulfate (2.5% solution), disodium phosphate anhydrous, mannitol, hypromellose 6 cP, macrogol 6000, talc, polysorbate 80, titanium dioxide (E 171), methacrylic acid and ethyl acrylate copolymer (1:1), dispersion 30%. Capsule ingredients: cover: gelatin, quinoline yellow (E 104), titanium dioxide (E 171), purified water, body: gelatin, quinoline yellow (E 104), titanium dioxide (E 171), purified water.

< h2>Dosage:

Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

The medicine is administered orally in the morning (on an empty stomach). Capsules should be swallowed whole with 1/2 glass of water. It is important not to open or crush the capsules so that the pellets inside can reach the intestine, where they are absorbed.

If you have problems swallowing the capsule, you can mix its contents with still water or acidic juice. fruit (e.g. orange) or applesauce and drink/eat immediately. Then rinse the glass well with 1/2 of its volume and drink the resulting liquid. This is to ensure that you take the entire dose. Milk or carbonated water cannot be used for rinsing. Solid particles contain medicine - do not chew or crush them.

Do not take Goprazol Max for longer than 14 days without consulting your doctor. If there is no improvement or if symptoms worsen, seek medical advice.

Dosage: 1 capsule once a day for 14 days.

In order to improve symptoms, it may be necessary to taking capsules for 2-3 consecutive days.


Action:

Omeprazole belongs to a group of drugs called "proton pump inhibitors". It works by reducing the amount of hydrochloric acid secreted in the stomach. The active substance is enclosed in a capsule in the form of the so-called pellets, which avoids its disintegration in the acidic pH of the stomach and gets into the intestine, where it is absorbed.

Indications:

Goprazol Max is used in adult patients for the short-term treatment of gastric reflux symptoms -esophageal, which may manifest itself in:

  • heartburn (a feeling of burning pain in the chest reaching up to the throat),
  • regurgitation of acidic gastric contents - acid belching.

Contraindications:

When not to use Goprazol Max

  • if you are allergic to omeprazole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine,
  • if you are allergic to medicines containing other proton pump inhibitors (e.g. pantoprazole, lansoprazole, rabeprazole, esomeprazole),
  • if you are taking a medicine containing atazanavir or nelfinavir (used to treat HIV infection) ,
  • in children.

Side effects:

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.

Warnings and precautions:

Do not take Goprazol Max for longer than 14 days without consulting your doctor. If there is no improvement or if symptoms worsen, consult a doctor.

Goprazol Max may conceal the symptoms of other diseases. Therefore, if any of the following conditions occur before or while taking the drug, you should contact your doctor immediately:

  • unjustified weight loss and difficulty swallowing,
  • stomach pain or indigestion,
  • vomiting food or blood,
  • passing black stools (blood-stained stools),
  • severe or persistent diarrhea, as the use of omeprazole is associated with a slight increase in the incidence of infectious diarrhea,
  • previous presence of gastric ulcer or previous surgery on the gastrointestinal tract,
  • continuous use of symptomatic treatment of indigestion or heartburn for 4 or more weeks,
  • occurrence of jaundice or severe liver disease,
  • age over 55 years and new symptoms or a recent change in existing symptoms,
  • during treatment lasting longer than one year ,
  • before a planned specific blood test (chromogranin A concentration).
  • Goprazol Max contains sucrose. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine.

Storage:

  • Keep out of sight and out of the reach of children.
  • Store below 30oC.

Using other medicines:

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines you are taking currently or recently, as well as information about medications that the patient plans to take, including those obtained without a prescription.

Goprazol Max may interact with:

  • nelfinavir, atazanavir,
  • clopidogrel,
  • antifungal and antiyeast drugs,
  • digoxin,
  • diazepam,
  • phenytoin,
  • medicines used to reduce blood clotting, such as warfarin or other preparations of vitamin K antagonists,
  • rifampicin,
  • tacrolimus,
  • methotrexate,
  • erlotinib,
  • St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum),
  • cilostazol,
  • saquinavir,
  • clopidogrel.

Take the medicine with food and drink:

Goprazol Max capsules are recommended to be taken before eating (on an empty stomach).

Pregnancy and breastfeeding:

  • If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
  • Before starting Goprazol Max, you should tell your doctor whether you are pregnant or trying to get pregnant. The doctor will decide whether you can take Goprazol Max during this time.
  • Your doctor will decide whether to take the medicine while breastfeeding.

Impact on laboratory tests:

If you have been taking Goprazol Max for longer than three months, it is possible that the level of magnesium in your blood may decrease. Low magnesium levels may manifest as fatigue, involuntary muscle contractions, disorientation, convulsions, dizziness, and increased heart rate. If you notice any of the above symptoms, inform your doctor immediately. Low magnesium levels may lead to decreased potassium or calcium levels in the blood. Your doctor may recommend regular blood tests to monitor your magnesium levels. In very rare cases, Goprazol Max may affect the number of white blood cells in the blood. Omeprazole may affect some tests (chromogranin A). To avoid this effect, you should stop taking omeprazole five days before the test.

Use of the drug in children and adolescents:

Goprazol Max is not intended for use in children and adolescents.

Driving and using machines:

Goprazol Max does not affect the ability to drive or use tools and machines. Side effects such as dizziness and visual disturbances may occur. If these symptoms occur, do not drive or operate machinery.
