Pantoprazole Teva 20 mg
Indications:
Pantoprazole Teva 20 mg is used for the short-term treatment of the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (for example, heartburn, acid regurgitation) in adults.
Properties:
Pantoprazole Teva belongs to a group of medicines called proton pump inhibitors. The active substance of the drug is pantoprazole, which blocks the "pump" that produces stomach acid. In this way, the medicine reduces the amount of acid in the stomach. Pantoprazole Teva can relieve the symptoms of reflux disease and heartburn after the first day of use, but the drug does not provide immediate relief. You may need to take the tablets for 2 to 3 consecutive days to achieve complete relief from your symptoms. If you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 2 weeks, contact your doctor.
Ingredients:
The active substance is pantoprazole. Each gastro-resistant tablet contains 20 mg of pantoprazole (as sodium sesquihydrate).
The drug also contains: disodium phosphate, mannitol, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, hypromellose (type 6cP), triethyl citrate, sodium carboxymethyl starch (type A), methacrylic acid and ethyl acrylate copolymer (1:1) dispersion 30 %, yellow iron oxide (E 172).
Application:
The recommended dose is one tablet a day. The recommended dose of 20 mg pantoprazole should not be exceeded per day. The medicine should be taken for at least 2 to 3 consecutive days. Stop taking Pantoprazole Teva when your symptoms have completely disappeared. It is possible to alleviate the symptoms of reflux and heartburn after just one day of taking Pantoprazole Teva. You should consult your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after taking this medicine for a full 2 weeks. Do not take Pantoprazole Teva for longer than 4 weeks without consulting your doctor. Take the tablets before a meal, at the same time every day. The tablets should be swallowed whole with plenty of water. The tablets should not be chewed, crushed or divided.
Important information:
Do not use the drug in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients. You should not use Pantoprazole Teva if you are taking a medicine containing atazanavir.
