Helicid Control is a medicinal product that reduces the amount of hydrochloric acid produced in the stomach. Medicine for use in the case of gastroesophageal reflux (heartburn, regurgitation of acidic stomach contents into the esophagus, feeling of burning pain in the esophagus, sour taste in the mouth).

Composition:

The active substance is : omeprazole (Omeprazole).

1 gastro-resistant capsule contains 10 mg of omeprazole.

Excipients:

sucrose granules, anhydrous lactose, hypromellose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, sodium lauryl sulfate , disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, macrogol 6000, talc, methacrylic acid-ethyl acrylate copolymer (1:1); shell composition: black iron oxide, red iron oxide, titanium dioxide, yellow iron oxide, gelatin.

Action:

Helicid contains omeprazole, which belongs to the so-called proton pump inhibitors. Drugs from this group reduce the amount of hydrochloric acid secreted in the stomach. Omeprazole acts in the parietal cells of the gastric mucosa, reversibly inhibiting the activity of the proton pump.

Indications:

Symptomatic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux (heartburn, regurgitation of acidic gastric contents into the esophagus).

Dosage:

Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.

• Medicine for oral use.
• Capsules can be taken with a meal or on an empty stomach.
• It is recommended to take the medicine in the morning.
• The capsules must not be chewed or crushed. Conditionally, the capsules can be opened if there is difficulty in swallowing. However, you must not bite the pellets contained in the capsule.

Adults: usually take 2 capsules (2 x 10 mg) once a day for 14 days.

Contraindications

When not to use the drug:

• in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance - omeprazole or any of the other ingredients of this drug,
• if in the past you have hypersensitivity to other drugs from the proton pump inhibitor group, such as lansoprazole, esomeprazole, pantoprazole or rabeprazole,
• if you are taking nelfinavir.

Warnings and precautions

• Helicid Control contains lactose and sucrose - if you have an intolerance to some sugars, discuss the use of this medicine with your doctor.
• The medicine should not be used for longer than 14 days without consulting a doctor.

• If you experience: unexplained weight loss, stomach pain or indigestion, blood in vomit, black stools, no improvement - persistent heartburn for 4 weeks or more, jaundice or liver disease, seek medical advice.
• Discuss the use of this medicine with your doctor if you have ever been allergic to other medicines from the proton pump inhibitor group.
• The medicine should not be used as a preventive measure.
• Using the medicine for longer than 3 months may be associated with reduced magnesium concentration in the body.
• The medicine should be kept out of the sight and reach of children. Store in a dry place, at a temperature below 25°C. Protect from light. The product is sensitive to moisture, therefore there is a drying agent in the cap. The cap should be screwed on carefully immediately after removing the product from the packaging.
