Pantoprazole Teva 20 mg 14 gastro-resistant tablets

Product description:

Pantoprazole Teva is a drug classified as a proton pump inhibitor. The active substance contained in the drug - pantoprazole blocks the "pump" that produces stomach acid and thus reduces the amount of acid in the stomach. The drug is used in adults for the short-term treatment of symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease, including heartburn and acid regurgitation.

Composition:

1 tablet contains: p>

  • active substance: pantoprazole 20 mg in the form of sodium sesquihydrate),
  • excipients: disodium phosphate, mannitol, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, hypromellose (type 6cP), triethyl citrate, sodium carboxymethyl starch (type A), methacrylic acid and ethyl acrylate copolymer (1:1) dispersion 30%, yellow iron oxide (E 172).

Indications:

Short-term treatment of symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease such as heartburn and reflux in adults.

Action:

Reducing the amount of acid in the stomach by blocking the "pump" that produces stomach acid .


Dosage:

  • Adults: 1 tablet a day.
  • Tablets should be taken before a meal , at the same time every day.
  • Swallow whole with plenty of water.
  • Tablets should not be chewed, crushed or divided.

No the recommended dose of 20 mg pantoprazole per day should be exceeded. The medicine should be taken for at least 2 to 3 consecutive days and discontinued once the symptoms have completely disappeared. You should consult your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after taking this medicine for a full 2 ​​weeks. Do not take Pantoprazole Teva for longer than 4 weeks without consulting your doctor. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose. If in doubt, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Contraindications:

  • Allergy or hypersensitivity to pantoprazole or any of the other ingredients of the drug.
  • Application HIV protease inhibitors such as atazanavir, nelfinavir.
  • Using a medicine containing atazanavir.
  • Planned specific blood test (chromogranin A level).
  • The medicine Pantoprazole Teva should not be used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age due to the lack of information on safety in this group of patients.

Adverse effects:

Contact your doctor or nearest hospital emergency room immediately if any of the above serious side effects occur.

Common side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10 people): benign polyps in the fundus of the stomach.

Interactions:

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.

  • Pantoprazole Teva may affect the effectiveness of other medicines, in particular: HIV protease inhibitors such as atazanavir, nelfinavir (Pantoprazole Teva must not be used simultaneously with HIV protease inhibitors), ketoconazole, warfarin and phenprocoumon (may additional blood test may be necessary), methotrexate (pantoprazole increases the level of methotrexate in the blood).
  • You should not take Pantoprazole Teva with medicines that reduce the amount of acid produced in your stomach, such as other proton pump inhibitors (omeprazole, lansoprazole or rabeprazole) or H2 antagonists such as ranitidine, famotidine.
  • Pantoprazole Teva can be used with antacids if necessary, e.g. Magaldrate, alginic acid, sodium bicarbonate, aluminum hydroxide, magnesium carbonate or combinations thereof.
