Book "How a Rider Moves"

The book 'How a Rider Moves' is a look at the biomechanics of a rider based on the latest scientific discoveries. Movement expert Eckart Meyners explains what happens in the human body while horse riding and discusses the complexity of this process, including the psychological aspects.

The author shows the way to achieve independence and confidence in the rider's movements. It explains its basic anatomical and physiological conditions, presenting their relationship with the motor processes occurring during horse riding. He also emphasizes that what is happening in the rider's body should enable him to perform tasks in a relaxed manner.

The book also includes advice on common problems that arise when using aids and related to the rider's equipment that may limit or support him. The presented suggestions for effective stretching and strengthening exercises for myofascial tapes performed using Blackroll® rollers and Franklin-Ball balls on the ground and on a horse help improve posture, condition and body mobility while horse riding. Kinesiological exercises relieve tension and support the learning process.

How a Rider Moves presents knowledge of the motor skills of a rider, unheard of in previous Polish-language equestrian literature. Reading this book should be mandatory for everyone who trains riders, regardless of discipline and level. It is a treasure trove of knowledge for instructors, suggesting what and how they should teach. I also recommend this book to riders who take horse riding seriously. By studying this position, they will be able to verify the knowledge of people to whom they entrust their training and from whom they receive instructions such as: "ride him", "shoulders back" or "gallop, gallop".
